Did you know that Wolf has a selection of videos demonstrating how to perform basic services on their scooters? Check them out here: https://qualityscooterparts.com/index.php/how-to-videos
Don’t think you have to tackle these on your own — we can take care of these services for you. We do recommend, however, taking measures to winterize your scooters before storing them here in the North East.
There are only two items to consider: Gas & Battery.
The goal is to prevent the ethanol gas from breaking down & clogging the carburetor over the winter. Here’s a few options:
- A) Put fuel stabilizer into the gas tank and let the scooter run for a while.
- B) Use non-ethanol gas for your last fill of the season
- C) Drain the carburetor bowl
- D) Both A and C
To drain the carburetor:
This will be easier on some models over others, but the process is the same one all. The drain is accessed from the Left-hand side of the scooter, and you will need a long flat-head screw driver and a drain pan/bottle. The drain hose should be flopped over/hanging down the Left side CVT cover.

You will use the screwdriver to loosen the drain screw just a few turns, allow the fuel to drain out of the drain hose into your drain pan/bottle, and then close the screw once the flow stops. That’s it!
The goal with the battery is to prevent it from discharging and then freezing. It’s not important to remove or disconnect the battery from the scooter in itself, but it is important to keep the battery in environment above freezing temps when it’s being stored. For this reason, many people do remove their batteries and bring them indoors.
Additionally, it may be beneficial to purchase a slow-charge trickle charger/battery maintainer as all batteries will slowly loose charge over time.
Lastly, remember that when you go to start your scooter in the Spring, you will likely have to allow the engine to crank for 10-20 seconds consecutively with the throttle closed in order for the carburetor bowl to fill itself back up with fuel. You will need a good battery to accomplish this, so if you haven’t used a battery maintainer or have an older battery, just bring the battery on over to us and we can charge it back up & test it.
